Science Europe Response to the Public Consultation on Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe

On 22 February, Science Europe answered the European Commission’s consultation on the past, current, and future European R&I Framework Programmes. The response, developed in collaboration with the SE Working group on Horizon Europe reflects SE Member Organisations’ opinions and concerns regarding Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe.

The R&I Framework Programme We Want for Europe

Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe have been crucial instruments to boost European scientific excellence and collaboration, and to further develop the European Research Area (ERA).

Horizon Europe’s budget must be protected from any reduction or redirection. Its successor’s budget should be increased.

These are among the key messages of Science Europe's response to the Public Consultation on Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe.

CoARA Up and Running

The Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA) is now up and running since its official launch on 1st December at the Constitutive Assembly meeting of the Coalition after a year for intense drafting and development where Science Europe played a central role in both the Drafting Team and Interim Secretariat.

Communications Workshop

On 26–27 January, the Science Europe Working Group on Communication organised its first Workshop on Science Communication. The aim was to discuss what is at stake in science communication, focus on what needs to be done collectively to improve it, and define what concrete actions to develop.
